WET CLEANING - Wool

To take advantage of this new technology it is necessary to use products specially created for this kind of wash system. Indeed, Wet Cleaning detergents, have been created to optimize washing and at the same time eliminate stains and the most difficult dirt by respecting and protecting fibres.

The Wet Cleaning process is an environmentally/eco-friendly process, which reduces the environment impact and reduces the operating costs because: uses water and doesn’t create any special hazardous waste, by eliminating in this way the costs for disposal; it is not used a dangerous solvent for human beings and for the environment; the solvent used (water) is totally biodegradable in contrast to perchloroethylene; in addition there aren’t the purchase and storage costs of the solvent.

Thanks to this new innovative cleaning method it is now possible to wash even wool in water. Just be careful to use detergents that have been created for this method and suitable programmes.

WET CLEANING DETERGENTS

Wet Cleaning Detergents are not standard laundry detergents. They are products which contain molecules and polymers with advanced technologies with a double function: high level performances and protection of fibres and garments.

Wet Cleaning products are highly concentrated products, with high efficiency enzymes, active against difficult stains and polymers with a high technology content so that they can better exploit wash programmes.

The union of all these elements and the synergic combination with Wet Cleaning machines creates an unmatched product which assures the highest levels of cleaning and fabric protection.
Detergents and additives of Wet Cleaning system have to make for the degreasing power of perc which is not present into the water, by assuring at the same time fibres protection. So the product has to be both degreasing and efficient on difficult stains but delicate, so that they can preserve garments and assure a wash greater than dry cleaning wash e and the one of normal laundry wash.

Wet Cleaning products are not simple products but they are advanced technologies that lead wash with water to “extreme” levels.

WET-CLEANING of WOOL The cleaning of woollen garments in Wet cleaning (using water as solvent) is possible thanks to the synergy of the specific product and the appropriate detergent. The use of a wrong product or a wrong programme can cause irretrievable damages to wool fibres. It is very important to use the right product because Wet Cleaning products for wool are balanced products to have a strong action on dirt but a delicate action on fibres and on natural wool grease (LANOLIN).

The synergy between wet cleaning machine and product assures a high level wash of wool with degreasing performances similar to perc but, at the same time, protecting and preserving fibres without leaving it felted.

The only final foresight in drying is to leave a small percentage of water. If it is dried too much, the heat will damage fibres, by causing in this way wool felting and garments shrinkage! (for further information please read the article about wool felting)
To wash wool in Wet Cleaning we have developed two specific products.

HYGIENFRESH® WOOL & SILK is the first ENZYMATIC detergent on the market for wool & silk. Its formula combines enzymes and lanolin for a gentle wash action at low temperatures but great at removing difficult stains from delicate fibres. The enzymes amylase, lipase and mannanase work on a wide spectrum of stains, while cellulase and lanolin replenish the fibres. It has non-ionic surfactants which help with greasy/fatty stain removal, anionic surfactants to remove soiling, and cationic surfactants to remove static charge and help soften the fibres. Wool & Silk has an advanced formula which contains both anionic surfactants and cationic polymers. In no other Wet cleaning detergents there is this combination, while Wool & Silk contains both a highly cleaning action as well as a softening action. Wool and Silk contains colour transfer inhibitors to keep colours protected and bright. Finally Wool and Silk creates a buffer solution during the wash to ensure the maintenance of the correct pH.

HYGIENFRESH® SOFT & CAPS is a fabric conditioner for delicate fibres such as wool and silk. It contains an anti-felting system to nourish and protect delicate fibres. The silk proteins in the formula help regenerate woollen fibres as well as prevent pilling on wool and cotton. It comes with great smelling gentle "Fresh Roses" fragrance in micro-capsules for a long-lasting fragrance. Soft and Caps, contains lanolin which has the property to “restore” fibres. By using Wool&Silk and Soft&Caps you will have a double synergic action of fibre recovery with lanolin, assuring the maximum brightness and softness for garments. More over Soft & Caps, has a high concentration of microcapsules that release at the end of the wash and after months a stirring and intense fresh laundry fragrance. Microcaps are resistant to dryers cycles and, after months or years, release the fragrance while you put your garment on, still smelling the garment scented after months.
